You will get answers to these burning questions
Is the Octoberfest addictive? What is the difference between a heterogenous and a homogenous crowd on the Octoberfest? How important is the Octoberfest High? How do the visitors in the tents get into ecstasy? What makes a song an Octoberfest smash hit? Is the Octoberfest a ritual? Traditional Bavarian dress and leather pants as ritual gear? Why does the Octoberfest start in September? Is the Statue of the Bavaria a Godess of Ecstasy? What does the Octoberfest have to do with the God Dionysos?
and some Oktoberfest history
and much more
Two years of intense field study and many years of personal experience on the Octoberfest have cristallized and were published in my social psychological thesis "Das Oktoberfest. Masse, Rausch und Ritual" (The Octoberfest. Crowds, Ecstasy and Rituals)
The results of my study are being summarized in this entertaining
and informative guided tour on the Octoberfest. All this in easily understandable
and not so very "scientific" perfect English or German.
